Battlefield Hardline's beta is being extended another day — now ending tonight Pacific Time — thanks to an overwhelming level of participation that has seen more than 6 million playing the game.
Barely more than a day after celebrating 5 million players in the game, Visceral Games general manager Steve Papoutsis says another million have joined in. He didn't give a specific time for the beta's conclusion tonight, just "Monday night, February 9th, Pacific Time." It had been scheduled to close down last night.
Battlefield Hardline, the cops-and-robbers reimagining of Electronic Arts' military shooter franchise, will launch March 17 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
The 6 million who are playing the beta tops the previous all-time high for participation, set by Destiny last year. Destiny, however, did not launch on PC.
