Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is getting amiibo support via a free update tomorrow, Feb. 10, NintendoLife reports.
The update will allow amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. collection "to be used with the new systems," the site reports. We've reached out to Nintendo and will update accordingly.
Amiibo figures allow players to store data within each character. In Smash Bros. specifically, players can level up and customize specific characters. For more on Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, check out our review.
Nintendo will release its latest version of the handheld, the New Nintendo 3DS, Feb. 13. The game launches alongside the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, which we reviewed last week.
