State of Decay artists filled the game with hidden penises

Contractors working on Undead Labs' zombie game State of Decay hid a "ridiculous amount of genitalia" into the background of the release, designer Geoffrey Card told XBLAFans.

The not-safe-for-work images remained unnoticed by players, however, as the XBLA release featured relatively low-resolution textures. It was only once the design team began working on a high-res remake of the game that the images became visible.

Microsoft confirmed the removal of the hidden wangs to Game Informer, stating: "Undead Labs was not aware of the textures in question until they began the process of exporting textures for State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition, and they are not visible in the original edition of State of Decay. Undead Labs is no longer working with the contractor in question, and this material will not be present in State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition."

State of Decay was originally released for Xbox 360 in June 2013. A Windows PC version was released through Steam the following September. For more on the original State of Decay, read Polygon's review.
