Here's what Halo 3: ODST looks like in The Master Chief Collection

Today, developer 343 Industries gave Halo fans their first look at the remastered version of Halo 3: ODST, the fifth game coming to Xbox One compilation Halo: The Master Chief Collection. In addition to showing a work-in-progress look at ODST, Bungie's 2009 Xbox 360 game, 343 also offered a peek at the upcoming remastered multiplayer map, Relic.

Relic is part of the Halo 2: Anniversary remaster and based on the map of the same name that originally shipped in Halo 2's Maptacular Pack in 2005. You can see a comparison shot of the remastered and classic versions of the map below.

343 Industries studio head for Halo external development Dan Ayoub said that the developer and its community have been playtesting Relic and ODST's campaign daily, and expect to share release information about the new Master Chief Collection content soon.

Ayoub said 343 Industries has another content update coming in April that will further improve the Master Chief Collection experience. The developer released a major patch for the Xbox One game in early March to alleviate the game's matchmaking issues, and Ayoub said players will "continue to see improvements to the experience in the coming months."

Microsoft and 343 announced in December that they were bringing Halo 3: ODST's campaign and the Relic multiplayer map to Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Xbox One owners who had played the Halo collection prior to Dec. 19 are eligible to receive the new content for free, along with other digital goods.
