Bracket Games' Independent Games Festival nominee Three Fourths Home is launching on Steam this Friday, it was confirmed to Polygon.
A playable short story, in Three Fourths Home you play as Kelly, a young woman who has just moved back in with her family in small-town Nebraska after college, and after an accident has rocked her family's stability. The whole game takes place during a stormy drive home.
Three Fourths Home was first made available last year through the studio's website before being greenlit by the Steam community for release on the digital platform. The Steam launch will feature an extended version of the original release, with some tweaks made to the Linux version.
Here's what you can expect:
- A new edit of the main game, in which an important story changes based on the way players navigate the conversation
- A 20-30 minute epilogue set in Minnesota
- A music player featuring clean versions of the soundtrack by Neutrino Effect
- 4 new stories written by one of the game's characters
- A "photo viewer" tied to the events of the epilogue
- Steam achievements & trading cards
Bracket Games will also be releasing a 200-page digital art book alongside the game, for $9.99.
"Three Fourths Home is a look into a specific moment of these characters' lives and their relationships with one another," reads a statement from the studio. "The narrative touches on a variety of issues affecting Kelly and her family, including disability, adulthood, familial obligation, nostalgia, and loss."
