MineCon 2015 tickets go on sale March 27

Mojang's official Minecraft convention, MineCon, is coming to London this July, and tickets will first go on sale March 27, the developer announced today. The Minecraft maker also updated its plan for selling the 10,000 available tickets for MineCon 2015, which have changed since the event was announced last month.

The first 5,000 tickets for MineCon 2015 go on sale Friday, March 27, at 6 p.m. GMT. A second batch of 5,000 will go on sale the following day, Saturday, March 28, at 12 p.m. GMT. Tickets cost £129 (about $194) each for the two-day event. Mojang warns that tickets to MineCon 2015 can't be traded or resold.

Tickets will be sold through Eventbrite at minecon.mojang.com.

MineCon 2015 runs July 4-5 and promises to feature "tons of panels, lots of exhibitors showing off cool things they are doing with Minecraft, and a bunch of interactive attractions during the event," according to Mojang. Attendees will also be treated to a party on Saturday night, a costume contest and will score a convention-exclusive cape in Minecraft.

This year's MineCon will be the fourth official Minecraft convention, following similar events in Las Vegas, Orlando and Paris. It will be the first under new Minecraft owner Microsoft, which purchased Mojang and the game last year in a $2.5 billion deal.
