Trine 3: Artifacts of Power announced; see its trailer here

Owen S. Good is a longtime veteran of video games writing, well known for his coverage of sports and racing games.

Frozenbyte said today that Trine, its successful puzzle-platformer series, will get a third installment in 2015 titled Trine 3: Artifacts of Power.

Trine's familiar themes — co-operative gameplay and stylish visuals — are showcased in the video above announcing the sequel.

Details so far are sparse, though Frozenbyte lists PC as the game's platform, with "others TBA." No specific release date is given.

The Trine series, as the video points out, has sold 7 million copies since its debut in the summer of 2009. The first two editions debuted on Windows PC before seeing ports to consoles and other PC formats. Trine 2 also was a launch title on PlayStation 4 in November 2013.
