Erron Black is the latest addition to Mortal Kombat X's roster of fighters, developer NetherRealm Studios announced today with a trailer.
Black, a human gunslinger from Earthrealm, debuted earlier this year in the Mortal Kombat X prequel comic. He is new to the series, and Mortal Kombat X will be his first video game appearance. Today's trailer confirms Black's presence in the game, confirming a screenshot leak earlier this month.
As you can see in the trailer above, Black fights with dual pistols, and is so accurate with them that he can fire bullets that ricochet off multiple bones in the body of an opponent. For his Fatality, he fires into an enemy's torso, tosses a sand bomb in the same spot and then shoots the grenade. The ensuing explosion causes sand to fly out of the wound, as well as the opponent's eyes, ears and mouth.
Mortal Kombat X publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment also released a minute-long TV commercial for the game today. You can watch the ad below. Mortal Kombat X will be available April 14 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One, and this summer on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. For more, check out our recent preview.
