Chicago's NetherRealm Studios, home to members of the original Mortal Kombat team, invited Polygon over for some hands-on time with their latest effort — Mortal Kombat X.
Their ambitious single-player story is reportedly bigger than anything the developer has done in the past. The first chapter, which you can see most of above, puts players in the role of Johnny Cage, and features battles against Scorpion and Sub Zero. The entire clip is filled with cameos by other, unlockable characters.
