What happens when you take 2D platformers like Spelunky and Cave Story and combine them with a vertical bullet-hell shooter in one big procedurally-generated blender? You get Downwell. Nominated into the Student Showcase at this year's IGF Awards and created single-handedly by Japanese indie developer Ojiro Fumoto, Downwell is characterized by speed, difficulty, and its black-and-white-and-red-all-over artstyle.
Downwell releases on PC, iOS and Android later this year.
