Johnny Cage will return in Mortal Kombat X

Classic Mortal Kombat fighter Johnny Cage will make a return to the series as a playable character in Mortal Kombat X, NetherRealm Studios senior producer Adam Urbano told Game Crate (via Shoryuken).

During the interview, Urbano confirmed Johnny Cage will be available as an upcoming fighter, with references to his role in the game's story mode. The video interview has since been removed from Game Crate's website, while archives of the videos by other YouTubers have been taken down from the video website over copyright claims by publisher Warner Bros.

One other Mortal Kombat veteran, the blind fighter Kenshi, is also confirmed by Urbano as making an appearance in Mortal Kombat X. Kenshi was previously rumored to be in the game when Warner Bros. released screenshots of the character in a mobile version of Mortal Kombat X.

"You'll get to play as Johnny Cage, but we're also showing Cassie Cage, who is the daughter of Sonya and Johnny," Urbano said. "You'll get a chance to see Kenshi and a chance to see a couple more."

Mortal Kombat X is coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. For more on Mortal Kombat's famed Johnny Cage, have a look at Polygon's interview with Daniel Pesina, the actor who played Cage in Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat 2.
