The reveal of a working, practical BB-8 droid was one of the most exciting things to come out of the Star Wars Celebration live-stream, and now it looks like you'll be able to buy your own version of the droid, although details such as price and launch date are non-existent.
Gizmodo was able to get a screenshot of a listing for a $150 version of the toy launching on September 1, but it's unknown how much of this information is accurate and how much is just a placeholder for the actual listing.
You can compare that to the outline on the teaser page the company has set up:
"What an incredible honor it is to work with the team at Disney on one of the most interesting new characters in the Star Wars franchise," Sphero's CEO Paul Berberian said in a statement. "Opportunities this significant are rare. If anyone can execute and deliver on an exceptional BB-8 experience, it's our Sphero team in Boulder [Colorado]."
The New York Times also has some information about size and capability. "The iPhone-controlled BB-8 toys, about the size of a large Granny Smith apple, will be sold in Disney Stores and other specialty retailers this holiday season," the article states. Larger versions of the droid will be exhibited at theme parks and other events.
