With Konami's Silent Hills dead and its playable teaser P.T. destined for removal from the PlayStation Store today, a few PlayStation 4 owners took to eBay to sell the demo pre-installed on their consoles.
As of this morning, there were at least three sellers listing the console with P.T. installed. Two, spotted by VG247, were listed for £1,000.00 (or about $1,530) and one, which included five games and the demo, was $319.95 as of this writing.
Over the weekend, Konami announced that the "distribution period" for P.T. on PlayStation Store would be expiring on Wednesday, April 29. On Monday, Konami confirmed that while the company still planned to create Silent Hill games, Silent Hills was canceled. The company offered no explanation as to why.
P.T. was announced at Gamescom last year as an interactive teaser for Silent Hills. The free title hit the PS4 short after and players discovered the teaser was for a new Silent Hill game in development at Kojima Productions.
Then last month, something seemed to happen between Hideo Kojima and Konami and the company removed the developer's name and the logo for his production company from its Metal Gear Solid websites, as well as from the Silent Hills website.
In a statement following the removal of Kojima Productions branding, Kojima said he is "100 percent involved and will continue working on Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain," which is scheduled to launch Sept. 1. Kojima did not comment on his ongoing involvement with Silent Hills.
