Games with Gold lineup for May returns to three free games, with a bonus extension

Microsoft's Games with Gold lineup for May 2015 goes back to a slate of three free games: CastleStorm: Definitive Edition on Xbox One, and Mafia 2 and F1 2013 on Xbox 360, the company announced today.

This month, Microsoft offered six titles — twice the usual number — to mark the milestone of 100 million free games downloaded through Games with Gold. The company is extending the promotion for Cherry Pop Games' Pool Nation FX (regularly $13.99) on Xbox One, which has been free for all of April, through the end of May.

The new free Xbox One game for May is Zen Studios' CastleStorm: Definitive Edition (reg. $14.99), a current-generation remaster of a tower-defense title that debuted in 2013. It will be available free all month long. Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360 will be able to download 2K Czech's Mafia 2 (reg. $19.99), which was originally released in 2010, from May 1-15. Codemasters' F1 2013 (reg. $49.99), which launched in 2013, will be available free from May 16-31.
