The "Elder's React" series of videos are great for a number of reasons, but one of the most interesting aspects of these videos is seeing how older, non-gaming folks deal with things in gaming we take completely for granted. The intricate nature of fighting games moves, for one, or the brutality of Mortal Kombat's fatalities.
In fact, there was a second, shorter episode released just to show the older men and women watching the game's fatalities.
The reactions go from "this should be illegal" to someone being skeptical kids would understand a Johnny Carson / The Shining joke.
"I must really be old," one of the women says, referring to her strong reaction to the violence. Heck, it's not like they're easy to watch even for those of us who grew up with the games!
It's great to see the players jump into a genre they seem to know so little about and have such a good time, though. I wonder if they'll buy any easy fatalities.
