Ubisoft and the Far Cry 4 team is matching up to the first $100,000 in donations given to the Canadian Red Cross for the Nepal Region Earthquake Fund, the company confirmed to Polygon.
"Having spent the last few years working on Far Cry 4, a game heavily inspired by Nepal and its people, it is with heavy hearts that the Far Cry family pulls together to raise money for the Canadian Red Cross, who are mobilizing their traveling hospital team to Kathmandu to offer support and medical assistance," according to the post on the Canadian Red Cross site, which Ubisoft verified was created by their team.
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the area in and around Kathmandu in Nepal on Saturday, killing 5,489 people and wounding more than 11,000, according to Nepali authorities.
As of this morning, $17,705 had been donated. If you'd rather donate directly check out the New York Times list of places to give.
