Splatoon, the colorful multiplayer shooter, will be the focus of the next Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo announced today.
The "squid-tastic action" will begin at 10 a.m. ET next Thursday, May 7, on Nintendo's website, the company said in a press release today. The most recent Nintendo Direct came last week, when Nintendo presented gameplay footage of Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Nintendo revealed Splatoon at E3 2014. The third-person shooter supports up to eight players, although it will not offer voice chat. The characters, known as "Inklings," can change between human and squid forms, and fire colored ink at each other and the environment. Splatoon will be released May 29 in North America, exclusively on Wii U. For more, check out our gameplay video below.
