What's fascinating about all this is that what used to be a pretty hardcore, if popular, fantasy book series has now completely infiltrated the popular culture.
Your parents, friends and partner probably get most of the Game of Thrones jokes, even if they don't watch the show or read the books. Who thought the books would spawn such mainstream acceptance and enthusiasm of such a challenging property?
