Season one of Star Wars Rebels is free to stream until May 4

The first season of Lucasfilm's animated series Star Wars Rebels is free to stream online until May 4, giving fans an opportunity to catch up on the Disney XD show before the second season kicks off in June.

Thirteen episodes of Star Wars Rebels, which takes place between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope in the Star Wars movie saga, are free to stream through starwars.com. The animated series follows a small group of rebels who fight against the Galactic Empire on and around the planet Lothal. Rebels, along with the films and Clone Wars animated series, is considered part of Lucasfilm's streamlined Star Wars canon.

Lucasfilm announced at last month's Star Wars Celebration that the upcoming Star Wars Anthology film, Rogue One, will also be set prior to the events of Episode IV.

Star Wars Rebels' second season kicks off Saturday, June 20 on Disney XD.
