Happy 10 year anniversary Leeeeeeeeeeeeroy Jenkins!!!

It was ten years ago Sunday that the Pals for Life World of Warcraft clan posted their Leeroy Jenkins video to the game's official forums, launching a mega meme that has since shown up on Jeopardy, NPR and even an episode of television show Psych.

On May 10, 2005, the Pals for Life posted the video, entitled "A Rough Go", as a capture of one of its clan members ignoring all of the sage planning of his clan mates to charge into a room filled with dragon eggs while bellowing his name. The group, thanks to Jenkins' (whose real name is Ben Schultz) disastrous charge, was all slaughtered.

Since the video hit, World of Warcraft added a "Leeeeeeeeroy" achievement to the game and later a card named after Jenkins to Hearthstone. The moment became a question in a round of Jeopardy and the "Leeeeeeeroy Jenkins" battlecry was seen in an episode of Psych and used by U.S. Air Force Pararescuemen as an alert for a mission (see video below) while on deployment in Afghanistan.

Try to add a little Leeroy Jenkins to your day today, but make sure it doesn't end in any deaths.
