Catch a glimpse of The Evil Within's third bloody add-on, The Executioner, out May 26

Samit Sarkar (he/him) is Polygon’s deputy managing editor. He has more than 15 years of experience covering video games, movies, television, and technology.

The Evil Within's third story expansion, The Executioner, will be released May 26, and publisher Bethesda Softworks offered a brief, bloody teaser of the add-on today.

The Executioner will allow you to play as The Keeper (aka Boxman), and in a shift from the rest of The Evil Within, it appears to be played in the first-person perspective. Check out the 15-second video above for some gnarly weapons.

The Executioner is the third and final piece of The Evil Within's season pass, which costs $19.99. The first two were The Assignment and The Consequence, a two-part mission starring Juli Kidman, a side character from the main game.
