Rebel Galaxy, the space-faring shooter from Double Damage Games, got a limited access preview build over the weekend, and Polygon had a chance to take it for a spin. Nick sits shotgun in Charlie's space truck for a quick trip around the 'verse.
This preview build is our first chance to play the game's main campaign, which starts by sending players to the furthest corner of the universe to meet their long lost aunt. Double Damage's co-founders, Travis Baldree and Erich Schaefer, have deep roots in action-RPGs. The men are perhaps best known for the Torchlight and the Diablo series, so it should come as no surprise that the story is one of the big elements pulling the gameplay forward.
Rebel Galaxy is due out soon on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Mac and Windows PC. You can read more about the game in Polygon's feature here.
