Bungie is working to correct a "late-breaking technical issue" with the sweeping 1.2.0 update for Destiny, according to an update that hit today on the forum for the game.
The issue "would have impacted the way the game launches for a large portion of you," according to Bungie community manager David "DeeJ" Dague. "Progress is being made."
"We'll be sharing new details on the deployment schedule that leads to House of Wolves as soon as they become facts. At the very least, you'll hear from me once a day about this. Hang in there, and thank you for your patience."
The 1.2.0 patch hit on May 6, but won't go live until shortly before the launch of the House of Wolves expansion. The patch will deliver a wide variety of changes to the game, whether a player purchases the expansion or not. That includes the elimination of the Commendations system that Bungie introduced in The Dark Below, and the addition of a materials exchange courtesy of the Speaker.
It's unclear if the technical issues will impact the release date for the expansion.
