A new Mario silver edition amiibo figure hits retailers nationwide on May 29 for $12.99, Nintendo announced this morning.
Today's news confirms last month's rumors of the silver amiibo.
No word on how many of the figures will be made available, but it appears that they won't be limited to a single retail chain. A Mario gold edition went on sale in March, but was only available at Walmart.
Earlier this month, Nintendo apologized for frustrating customers who struggled to find and purchase the amiibo they were looking for due to high demand and limited locations. During an earnings report analyst meeting, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata said that the company has sold more than 10.5 million figures and that they are struggling to keep up with demand.
