Destiny developer Bungie is now rolling out the long-awaited version 1.2 patch for the game, following a brief delay, the studio announced today.
The update, which prepares Destiny for its upcoming House of Wolves expansion, includes numerous bug fixes related to weapon perks. And Bungie is updating the Destiny mobile companion app to make vendor items, damage types and perks visible — so players may no longer have to boot up the game to see what Xur is selling.
Bungie did mention a problem with update 1.2: Following its installation, players may find that the Cryptarch doesn't recognize some rare and legendary engrams. The studio is advising Guardians to hang onto all engrams acquired in Destiny v1.2 until the launch of House of Wolves on May 19, when patch 184.108.40.206 will be released alongside the expansion.
As of that update, the Cryptarch won't turn legendary engrams into shards anymore; possible rewards will include only legendary or exotic gear. Update 220.127.116.11 will also add a new "Connection Recovery" feature, and will make Daily Heroic missions generate Motes of Light instead of shards.
In addition to delivering a host of tweaks to the Crucible reward system, patch 18.104.22.168 will add the three maps from The Dark Below — Pantheon, The Cauldron and Skyshock — to all playlists "for all players to enjoy," said Bungie. And the hotfix will set live a variety of House of Wolves changes such as the elimination of the Commendations system and features like the ability to exchange materials at the Speaker.
