The yin and yang of Counter-Strike's terrible gameplay

Counter-Strike's sudden resurgence in popularity really boils down to the ability of the game's developers to counter-balance the negative impact of aim-botting Norwegian teens who communicate telepathically while wiping the digital map with your exploded face.

How did Valve manage to do that?

By turning your weapons into deadly barbie dolls you can dress up with ridiculous skins earned through a complicated system that is essentially a form of gambling in which you always lose.
