After nearly a year in Early Access, Galactic Civilizations 3 launched this past week — the first full-fledged GalCiv release since Galactic Civilizations 2: Dread Lords almost a decade ago. We recently sat down with the game's lead designer Paul Boyer for an in-depth discussion on building a game this huge, the very real difference 64-bit architecture can make in a 4X game, and Stardock's five-year plan for supporting the title.
