BoJack Horseman, the Netflix animated series about a washed-up equine sitcom star from the '90s, will return for a second season on July 17, Netflix announced today.
All 12 episodes of season 2 will premiere at 12:01 a.m. PT on that date. The first season debuted on Netflix last August.
Season 2 of BoJack Horseman finds BoJack (Will Arnett) starring in a dream project, a biopic of Secretariat. And after the events of the first season, he's trying to be a better BoJack. Unfortunately, he faces challenges to that goal, both on and off the set.
"If season one of BoJack Horseman is about a character learning he needs to change, the new season is about whether or not he can," reads a statement from Netflix. "It's a character in a rut, trying to pull out of that rut, and the rut pulling back."
BoJack Horseman's cast includes the titular horse-man; his unemployed friend Todd Chavez (Aaron Paul); his agent, Princess Carolyn (Amy Sedaris); his ghostwriter, Diane Nguyen (Alison Brie); and Diane's husband, Mr. Peanutbutter (Paul F. Tompkins). The second season will feature "lots of surprise guest stars and funny talking animal jokes," according to Netflix.
Netflix also released a poster for season 2; you can check it out below.
