George A. Romero's Marvel Comics miniseries, Empire of the Dead, is in development by Demarest Films for a possible TV adaptation, Variety reports.
Empire of the Dead, which was written by Romero for Marvel last year, was split up between three five-issue acts and takes place in a New York City quarantined after a zombie outbreak. Also, there's vampires.
The TV series will be written by Romero and Peter Grunwald, and executive produced by Romero and Grunwald with Demarest's Sam Englebardt and William D. Johnson.
Demarest was the distributor for Tusk last year and the production company for a number of movies and shows including Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and the upcoming television show The Night Manager.
