World War Z sequel hits theaters summer of 2017

The sequel to World War Z, which was based on the Max Brooks' novel of the same name and starred Brad Pitt, is set to hit theaters on June 9, 2017, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The sequel will be written by Steven Knight (Shutter Island) and directed by Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible).

The original movie has taken in $540 million since its 2013 release and if anything, zombies have only gotten more popular.
