Netflix will debut A Very Murray Christmas, a Christmas special featuring Bill Murray, this December, the streaming network announced today.
A Very Murray Christmas is "an homage to the classic variety show featuring Bill Murray playing himself," according to Netflix. A major snowstorm has blanketed New York City, and Murray worries that no one will make it to his show because of the blizzard. But "through luck and perseverance," guests arrive at the Carlyle Hotel and help Murray get back into the Christmas spirit.
Murray will be joined by an array of famous people, including George Clooney, Paul Shaffer, Amy Poehler, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, Phoenix, Frederic Moulin, Rashida Jones and Miley Cyrus.
A Very Murray Christmas will reunite Murray with Lost in Translation director Sofia Coppola, who is directing the Netflix special and co-wrote it with Murray and Mitch Glazer. Coppola, Glazer, Roman Coppola and Tony Hernandez are serving as executive producers.
