Mortal Kombat X's Tanya will be available starting June 2 (update)

Tanya will join the Mortal Kombat X roster starting next week, series creator Ed Boon announced today on Twitter.

Owners of the Kombat PackMortal Kombat X's downloadable content season pass, will be able to play as Tanya at no additional cost as of June 2. The Kombat Pack, which costs $29.99, also includes two special guest characters — Jason Voorhees and the Predator — and another "klassic Kombatant," Tremor.

Tanya debuted in 1997's Mortal Kombat 4. She comes with a new weapon in Mortal Kombat X called the naginata, and wears an Egyptian-themed outfit.

Mortal Kombat X publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will begin selling Tanya separately on June 9, according to Boon. He did not announce a price, but Jason, who was released as DLC earlier this month, goes for $4.99 on his own and $7.99 in a bundle with three additional character skins.

All three items will be available June 9 on Steam, the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Games Store.
