Did Steam's summer sale dates leak on a Russian social network?

Steam's Summer Sale will begin on Thursday, June 11, at least according to a post on a Steam VK page this week.

A Google translation of the post says Valve will also run a "Sale Encore" on June 20, an unspecified twist that will include those companies that participated in the sale. The annual event, which offers deep discounts on PC games and software, will reportedly end June 22, an 11-day total.

According to IGN's Russian language edition, the post appeared in Steam's official group on VK, a popular Russian social network. The post's Russian author, Vyacheslav Konchits, goes by MrFreemanBBQ on Steam. In his profile, he says he's the "lead writer and founder of the Public Steam Page" on VK. Konchits also maintains a highly-rated Steam guide explaining Valve's sales.

If correct, the dates would roughly coincide with those of last year's summer sale, which kicked off on Thursday, June 19, 2014, and ended on June 30, also an 11-day total. According to the post, the sale will begin and end at "20:00 Moscow time," which is 1 p.m. ET. Last year's summer sale also began and ended at 1 p.m. ET.

We've contacted Valve for more information and will update this article as we receive it.
