Meet the stars of Sense8, the TV series from the Wachowskis you keep forgetting about

Susana Polo is an entertainment editor at Polygon, specializing in pop culture and genre fare, with a primary expertise in comic books. Previously, she founded The Mary Sue.

Longtime followers of the careers of the Wachowskis know better than to expect consistent output from them, and so with the release of Jupiter Ascending in February it seems downright odd that they'd have another project debut only four months later.

But then again, there's Sense8, an original Netflix series that'll be ready for bingewatching on June 5th. Together with Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski the siblings have created a story about the increasingly strange lives of a diverse group of eight characters who find that their minds and memories are bleeding together, despite the vast physical and cultural distances between them. It's a cast that's diverse in just about every way, of different races, genders, sexual orientations and nationalities, from a cop in Chicago to transwoman in San Francisco, a closeted Mexican action movie star to an MMA fighter turned businesswoman in South Korea.

Fortunately, Netflix has made a handy playlist introducing you to all of the Sense8 in advance of the show's release. And you should check it out: According to our friends at The Verge, Sense8 is definitely worth watching.
