The remastered re-release of Halo 3: ODST that was promised to buyers of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, as a concession for a launch plagued by online difficulties, is available now on Xbox One, Microsoft and 343 Industries said this morning.

Halo 3: ODST is being offered for free, via download code, to Xbox One owners who played Halo: The Master Chief Collection from its Nov. 11 release date until Dec. 19; it's a make-good for the pervasive problems the shooter faced in its online multiplayer for several weeks after its release.

Codes were sent out this morning alerting Master Chief Collection owners to the game's availability. Those who bought the collection after Dec. 19 may add it on for $4.99 from the Xbox Store.

343 Industries notes that the Halo 3: ODST remaster does not include any multiplayer modes, and is the remade campaign of the original game only. For more, see the walkthrough of the remastered game in the video above.
