How Space Dust Racers fits 16-player kart racing on a single screen

Space Dust Racers doesn't make much sense on paper. It's a kart racing game that will hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam — assuming it meets its Kickstarter goal — where it will allow up to 16 players to hit the track simultaneously, all sharing a single, non-split screen. It pulls that feat off with smartphone connectivity and a really clever design: If you ever fall off the screen, you're done racing for the round. Basically, slowing down is extremely hazardous to your health.

Check out the preview video above to see Nick and myself play a very early build of Space Dust Racers against 15 AI opponents, which we use in lieu of 15 real friends, because really — who's got 15 friends?
