Vacation is a reboot of National Lampoon's Vacation, and here's a red-band trailer

Vacation, set to premiere this summer, will be the fifth big-screen entry in the National Lampoon's Vacation series. And it has very real ties to the original National Lampoon's Vacation from 1983, as you can see in the red-band trailer released today by Comedy Central.

Russell "Rusty" Griswold (Ed Helms) and his wife, Debbie (Christina Applegate), feeling that their "family's in a rut," decide to uphold the family tradition and make the cross-country drive to Walley World with their two sons. They also visit Rusty's parents, Clark and Ellen (Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, respectively, reprising their roles from the original four films).

And in that grand Griswold tradition, the new generation has all kinds of misadventures along the way. The red-band trailer includes the expected swearing and sexual jokes, like scenes defining the terms "rimjob" and "glory hole." Chris Hemsworth, sporting a Southern drawl, shows up to show off his abs — and, er, other parts. And the stinger plays out in a shocking way you probably weren't expecting.

Vacation hits theaters July 29.
