Dr. Mario is coming to Nintendo 3DS with a new entry called Miracle Cure, Bill Trinen announced today during a "micro" Nintendo Direct.
Like previous games in the series, Miracle Cure sees players defeating viruses by dropping colored capsules in Tetris-style puzzle gameplay. Miracle Cure refers to a new feature in the game — a "cure-all" that appears when players fill a gauge on the right side of the screen. With this new item, players can erase capsules and viruses of matching colors, wipe out entire rows or columns, or totally eliminate surrounding capsules and viruses.
Miracle Cure will also include a Dr. Luigi mode, in which players use L-shaped capsules, and a multiplayer mode for local or global online play featuring new in-game medicines. The game also includes download play, meaning those who own the game can try multiplayer with a friend who doesn't own it, and co-op modes.
Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure is currently available for pre-order; the game is being released only on the Nintendo eShop.
