Bedlam, a first-person shooter based on the novel by Christopher Brookmyre, is coming to PlayStation 4 Aug. 4, developer RedBedlam announced today. The game launches for Mac, Xbox One and Windows PC Aug. 13.
Bedlam follows a programmer named Heather Quinn who ends up trapped in the game world of a first-person shooter from the '90s. During her time there, she discovers "a vast realm of interconnected game worlds documenting the evolution of the FPS genre and of video games in general."
"Bedlam has been a labor of love for over eighteen months" said Brookmyre in a statement. "It's been great to work so closely on the project alongside the passionate team at RedBedlam. They've put a ton of effort into transferring the Bedlam ‘gameverse' from page to screen, and it's really great to know that gamers will soon get to experience it all firsthand."
Bedlam is currently available on Steam as an Early Access title.
