In the final days leading up to E3 2015, the head of Xbox warned fans that two high profile Xbox One games won't be appearing at the show: Platinum Games' Scalebound and Microsoft Studios' new Crackdown. Instead, those games will crop up at Gamescom in Germany this August.
"Having a jam-packed lineup of games to show at E3 means that there simply isn't enough time to give each of our upcoming titles its well-deserved time in the spotlight," Microsoft's Phil Spencer wrote on Xbox Wire. "We've decided to save some of our most eagerly-awaited future titles for gamescom in August. Rest assured that titles like Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound will be front and center at gamescom along with new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10."
Quantum Break's absence at E3 2015 was confirmed earlier this week by Remedy Entertainment chief creative officer Sam Lake.
Fans of Platinum Games will have something else to look forward to. At least one other Platinum Games-related announcement is happening at E3.
Microsoft's E3 lineup will feature the likes of Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6 and at least one Gears of War title.
Spencer said Microsoft will roll out some of its E3 announcements outside of its 90-minute E3 2015 press conference, which takes play on Monday, June 15 at 9:30 a.m. PT. Expect some of those announcements during its Xbox Live Daily @ E3, which airs daily from June 15-17, at 4 p.m. PT and can be viewed on Xbox consoles and Xbox.com.
