If this shot of Optimus Prime duking it out with Devastator is any indication, the next Transformers game will be a brawler — for Xbox 360 — done in a cel-shaded art style evocative of the toy line's cartoons in the 1980s.

Update: listing from Amazon Canada shows Transformers: Devastation launching Oct. 6 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, with the following box art.

Transformers: Devastation is the name of this game, according to Pure Xbox, which said the images and information came from unnamed sources. Activision is the publisher, says Pure Xbox, and more will be learned at E3.

Pure Xbox was curiously specific about Xbox 360 as a platform for Transformers: Devastation, meaning this could be a downloadable title. Nothing rules out an Xbox One release. Nothing rules out a release on other platforms, either.
