After years of rumor, speculation and false hope, Square Enix's classic role-playing game Final Fantasy 7 is finally getting a remake for PlayStation 4, Sony announced at its E3 2015 press conference today.
In a trailer, Square Enix confirmed some of the staff working on the new Final Fantasy 7: Yoshinori Kitase will serve as producer and Tetsuya Nomura will serve as director.
The Final Fantasy 7 remake is coming first to PS4, Sony's Adam Boyes said, seemingly indicating that it will come to other platforms as well.
The Final Fantasy 7 remake, a long-held desire for Final Fantasy fans since Square Enix showed a tech demo featuring characters from the game in a PlayStation 3 tech demo. Last year, Square Enix released a version of Final Fantasy 7 for PS4, though it was a marginally upgraded port of the PC release.
