Killer Instinct coming to PC with Xbox One cross-play

Microsoft Studios' Killer Instinct is coming to Windows PC, announced Phil Spencer, the Head of Xbox, during the PC Gaming Show at E3 today.

The PC version will support cross-platform play with the existing Xbox One title, Spencer added. Cross-play between Xbox One and PC versions of games is a focus for Microsoft in Windows 10, with titles like Lionhead Studios' upcoming Fable Legends offering that feature. Windows 10 will be released July 29.

Killer Instinct is a reboot of the '90s fighting game franchise; Microsoft Studios launched the game alongside the Xbox One in November 2013. Double Helix Games developed Killer Instinct's first season, and Iron Galaxy Studios took over for season 2. Fans of the game have long been asking for a PC version.
