Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is coming to PC

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is coming to Windows PC, announced Rod Fergusson, studio head at The Coalition, during the PC Gaming Show today at E3.

The game is a remaster of the original Gears of War, due for release on Xbox One on Aug. 25 this year, the 10th anniversary year of the original's launch. Microsoft announced the Xbox One version at its E3 news conference yesterday.

Fergusson added that the PC game will offer 4K resolution support, DirectX 12 support, unlimited refresh rate and some visual upgrades from the Xbox One version, as well as "a lot of changes and modernizations."

Fergusson said that the "difference between the original to the remastered [version] is that we rebuilt everything from the ground up." No release date has yet been announced for the PC version. Fergusson declined to comment on the potential for Gears of War 4 on PC.
