Buy an Xbox One this week, get a free game

Microsoft is looking to entice people into buying an Xbox One this week, following up this month's permanent price drop by sweetening the deal with a free game.

People who buy an Xbox One this week, including the standard $349 Kinect-free 500 GB console as well as the new $399 model with a 1 TB hard drive and redesigned controller, will also receive a free game of their choosing. The offer applies only to new disc-based games, not counting pre-orders.

Microsoft is running the promotion for all Xbox One consoles, so people who pick up game bundles — like the white Special Edition unit packed with Halo: The Master Chief Collection for $349 — will get an additional free game.

The deal runs from June 21 through this Saturday, June 27, at retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop. The offer is also valid at the Microsoft Store, where it is available through July 6.
