World's biggest Minecraft pixel-art sets new record

The Blizzard-inspired image above, created by artist Thorlar Thorlarian, is made up of 1.1 million Minecraft blocks.

Thorlarian spent more than 1,000 hours on the project. He used a Twitch stream to promote the project and raise funds for charity (see video below) and to show how he went about the project.

"It makes me happy to see how much of a difference games can make for charity and the less fortunate," he said in a Reddit AMA.
