Battlefield Hardline's first expansion, Criminal Activity, launched last week for Battlefield Premium members. But PS4 players who own Hardline's Ultimate Edition are reporting on the game's forums that they can't access the DLC right now.
"Criminal DLC is not playable for Ultimate Edition buyers on PS4," wrote Battlelog forum user Denyael on June 20. Players are indicating that they're able to download Criminal Activity, but the game doesn't recognize the installation. Owners of the Battlefield Hardline stand-alone game or its $69.99 Deluxe Edition, on all platforms, can access the DLC just fine.
At $119.99, Battlefield Hardline's Ultimate Edition is the most expensive version of the game. The bundle includes Battlefield Hardline Premium ($49.99 on its own), which offers two weeks of exclusive access to all four of the game's expansion packs, and also comes with 25 "Battlepacks," which are packages of in-game items and boosts.
Zach Mumbach, a multiplayer producer on Battlefield Hardline, apologized to Denyael for the issue on June 20, and added, "Right now we are looking at all the digital versions on PS4 to make sure everyone can download. Best update I can give you right now."
Battlefield Hardline developer EA DICE hasn't provided any further updates since then, and Criminal Activity remains inaccessible for Ultimate Edition owners, a week and a half after its release for Premium members.
We've reached out to EA and Sony for comment, and will update this article with any information we receive.
