Here's the new Ghostbusters' old-style proton pack

Paul Feig, the director of the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, has been rolling out looks at the crew's uniforms and gear and, like Yankee pinstripes, this New York institution hasn't changed much over the years either.

The all-female Ghostbusters get the standard issue jumpsuit, suitable for paranomal investigations and removals.

Upon that they will strap this proton pack to their back (and split).

For purposes of comparison, here's how the firepower looked on the cover of Omni in the 1984 movie (Millennials: Omni was kinda like Wired, but published by Penthouse — Ed.)

Looks like the particle accelerator and the battery have swapped positions, but the neutrona wand's holster still is over the right shoulder. The new proton pack looks older and more beat up than the older, sleeker pack, too.

The Ghostbusters cleaning up the town in 2016 are Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy.
