The Wii U's squid-and-kid shooter Splatoon will soon be getting a new online multiplayer mode added to its Ranked Battles mode called Tower Control, Nintendo announced this morning.
The objective in Tower Control is to climb atop a mobile tower and ride it into the enemy base. The tower moves once a team boards and seizes control of it. Nintendo explains that surrounding the tower and protecting the player on your team riding it, will usually net a win.
Tower Control will be available at 10 p.m. ET on July 1. Nintendo's Treehouse will be showing off the new mode during a live stream on Twitch at 6 p.m. ET today.
Released on May 29 in the U.S., the game sold more than 1 million copies worldwide in the first month.
