Of course your home needs a secret passage, and these people will build you one

I stumbled upon the above promotional video for Creative Home Engineering on Reddit, and now I'm convinced that no home is complete without its own secret passage.

The video is from 2009, but the company is still around, though it's a bit tricky to find pricing information on the site. I'm going to hazard a guess and say that someone custom-making a hidden door for your home is an expensive process.

My favorite part from the video is the idea that doing so will increase the resale value of the house, and ... that's actually plausible? If you were looking at two different houses and one of them had a killer secret hiding place that you could only access? That's an easy decision, even for a little bit more money.

I'm a personal fan of the doorway that's only accessible by playing certain moves on a chessboard, or a book where tilting the spine has been turned from the mechanical switch you'd expect into a remote sensor.

In other words, I'm going to begin saving up to link a hidden game room to a piano that only opens the door if you play "Moonlight Sonata."
